1. Introduction
SPACEV Technologies ("SPACEV," "we," "us," or "our") develops and operates Atlas, an emergency-response and safety application. This Privacy Policy describes the information Atlas may collect, why it is used, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you.
Emergency-response features may require information such as your identity, location, and incident details to connect you with relevant responders or organizations.
2. Information We Collect
The information Atlas processes depends on the features you use and may include:
- Account and profile details.
- Location information used by location-dependent safety features.
- Emergency contact details selected or entered by you.
- Emergency requests, incident details, updates, and response records.
- Device, notification, diagnostic, and technical information.
- Communications or feedback you send to us.
3. Information You Provide
You may provide information when creating an account, completing your profile, joining an organization, adding emergency contacts, submitting medical or safety information, requesting help, or contacting support. This may include your name, email address, phone number, organization, profile information, and details about an emergency.
Some optional health information may help authorized medical personnel prepare for an incident. Only provide information you are comfortable sharing for that purpose and keep it accurate where possible.
4. Location Information
Atlas may request approximate or precise location access so emergency assistance, responders, or relevant emergency workflows can determine where help may be needed when you use location-dependent safety features. Atlas may also allow a saved, selected, or manually entered location.
Atlas does not currently intend to use continuous iOS background location tracking through its current application configuration. Location availability and accuracy depend on your device, permissions, connectivity, and surrounding conditions.
5. Emergency Contact Information
Atlas may ask for permission to access contacts so you can select people to use as emergency contacts. Atlas may process the contact details you select or enter for emergency communication features. We do not describe this feature as uploading your entire address book.
You are responsible for ensuring that you are permitted to provide an emergency contact's information and for keeping it current.
6. Device and Technical Information
Atlas and its service providers may process technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve the application. This may include device type, operating-system information, app version, push-notification tokens, network information, timestamps, diagnostic data, crash information, and records of feature or API operation.
7. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- Create, authenticate, and maintain user accounts.
- Receive, route, coordinate, and document emergency requests.
- Share necessary incident information with authorized responders or organization staff.
- Provide maps, location features, notifications, and emergency-contact functions.
- Maintain security, prevent misuse, troubleshoot failures, and improve reliability.
- Respond to support, legal, or operational requests.
8. Emergency Response Functionality
When you create an emergency alert, Atlas may process and disclose information reasonably needed to handle it. Depending on the organization and incident, this can include your identity, submitted context, location, relevant medical information, alert status, and response activity.
Information may be available to authorized dispatchers, responders, medical personnel, organization administrators, or service operators according to their role and the configured emergency workflow. Atlas is a coordination tool and does not guarantee that assistance will be available or arrive within a particular time.
9. Notifications
Atlas may send push notifications about account activity, emergency alerts, response updates, or other service messages. Device notification permissions are controlled through your operating system. Disabling notifications may prevent time-sensitive updates from reaching you.
10. Third-Party Services
Atlas may rely on providers that support infrastructure, authentication, messaging, maps, location features, diagnostics, or related operations. The data a provider processes depends on the feature being used and its role.
- Google Firebase privacy and security information, including services such as Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- Mapbox Privacy Policy, for mapping and location-related functionality.
These providers maintain their own terms and privacy practices. Mentioning a provider does not mean it receives every category of information described in this policy.
11. Data Sharing
We may share information:
- With authorized organizations and personnel involved in an emergency response.
- With service providers acting on our behalf to operate Atlas.
- When required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request.
- To protect users, the public, SPACEV, or others from harm, fraud, or misuse.
- As part of a corporate transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards where applicable.
We do not claim or intend to sell users' personal data.
12. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide Atlas, maintain emergency and audit records, secure the service, resolve disputes, meet operational requirements, and comply with applicable legal obligations. Retention periods may vary by information type, organization requirements, and the reason the information was collected.
13. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information. These may include access controls, secure local storage, authenticated backend services, and transport protections where appropriate. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information. You may also be able to update profile information in Atlas.
Location, contacts, and notification permissions are controlled by your device operating system and can generally be changed in device settings. Restricting a permission may limit related Atlas features.
15. Account and Data Deletion
Where account-deletion controls are available in Atlas, you may use them to submit a deletion request. You may also contact us at favour@spacevtechnologies.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Some information may be retained where reasonably necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or emergency-record obligations, or where deletion is not technically or legally required.
16. Children's Privacy
Atlas may be available within schools, universities, estates, or other organizations whose communities can include younger users. Appropriate age, consent, and authorization requirements depend on the deployment and applicable law. Organizations and guardians should ensure that any required permissions are obtained. Contact us if you believe a child's information has been handled improperly.
17. International Processing and Transfers
SPACEV is based in Nigeria. Atlas service providers may operate systems in other countries. Information may therefore be processed outside your country, where privacy laws may differ. Where required, we seek to use appropriate measures for such processing.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy as Atlas, our practices, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy here and update the date shown above. Material changes may also be communicated through Atlas or another appropriate channel.
